Bloom follows an introverted teenager and her outspoken best friend as their already rocky relationship comes to a boiling head on the hottest, most boring day of summer 2004.
Reserved RAQUEL and socialite SHAY are two polar opposite 14-year-old friends who share one thing in common– the desire to leave lame Augusta. They sit confined to Shay’s porch on a humid summer day in 2004, yearning to get into something. When they're invited to a birthday party later that evening, Raquel is hesitant, but Shay convinces her to tag along. Throughout the day, their friendship is tested until it comes to a boiling head on the dance floor. On this adventure of a day, they discover a rude introduction to the bittersweet pains of adolescence, navigating friendship, and building community.
