But behind the scenes, things are a little more complicated: Sula has been secretly dating a straight man, McQueen has been hiding a realization about their true gender identity out of fear that it will make their “by queer women, for queer women brand” appear to be a fraud, and Rebecca, who suffers from bipolar disorder, is about to buckle under the pressure.
