“field of dreams” is a home-going service that exists within a larger self-care conversation. In this piece, the audience is taken on a journey of a young woman releasing and mourning the power she has given to other people. The artist realizes that in order for true spiritual growth to occur, she must lay down prioritizing people and focus on self-exploration and individual need first. The process reflects how difficult life’s trajectories can be while offering a closeness to the emotion of grief. Through this burial, we find that she reframes her own relationship with self, and ultimately concludes that peace comes within and cannot be found anywhere else.
