Beyond the Herd

Interweaving the rythyms of daily life on the ranch and wild horses on the range, "Beyond the Herd" tells the story of Mexican-American equestrians Amber and Isidro. Their kinship with mustangs echoes their own experiences with discrimination and 'otherness.' As resources dwindle for wild horses, their bond becomes a symbol of resilience, transforming once-wild mustangs into lifelong companions.

Art, Joy, Protest

This short documentary delves into the life and work of Jaishri Abichandani, a pioneering artist and activist whose creations challenge social norms and amplify marginalized voices. Born in Mumbai and based in New York, Abichandani's work spans a wide range of media, including painting, sculpture, and photography. The film explores how her art is deeply intertwined with her commitment to feminism, anti-castism, and decolonization.

Through intimate interviews, archival footage, and a closer look at some of her most provocative pieces, the documentary reveals how Abichandani uses art as a powerful tool for resistance and transformation. It highlights her role in founding the South Asian Women's Creative Collective (SAWCC), a platform that has supported countless artists of color. As the film weaves through her journey, it reflects on the ways in which her work continues to inspire and ignite conversations on identity, power, and social justice.
